About the role
1898 & Co.'s Business Strategy & Transformation team works with clients in critical infrastructure markets — primarily electric and gas utilities — to align strategy with execution, modernize operations, and lead complex change initiatives. As Client Strategy & Engagement Lead, you'll own a portfolio of executive-level client relationships, drive the full sales lifecycle from discovery through contract, and bridge the gap between what clients need and what the delivery team can build. This is a director-level role with real accountability for pipeline growth and long-term account health.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, cybersecurity, finance, business, or a related field; 13+ years of relevant experience required
- 8+ years of consulting experience specifically in U.S. electric and gas utilities
- Proven track record cultivating C-suite and VP-level relationships and closing consulting engagements
- Experience leading RFP/RFI responses, shaping scope and pricing, and managing pursuit strategy
- Strong command of business strategy, operational improvement, and organizational transformation concepts
- Excellent executive presence, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Professional registration preferred
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
