About the role

HDR's Urban Design, Planning and Landscape Architecture (UDPLA) practice is looking for a Central Region Cross Sector Lead to provide strategic, operational, and people leadership across its regional studios. You'll own area coordination, design and technical quality, business development, and staff growth — while serving as the connective tissue between HDR's global UDPLA practice and the clients, markets, and teams on the Front Range and across the Central region. This is a senior leadership role for someone who wants to shape the direction of a practice, not just manage it.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field
10+ years of experience in urban design, planning, or landscape architecture
Active professional license strongly preferred — AICP for planners/urban designers, PLA for landscape architects
Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring diverse project teams
Proven track record in client relationship development, pursuit strategy, and proposal leadership
Strong communication, organizational, and graphic skills
Willingness to travel for project work and internal collaboration
Experience with sustainable and/or regenerative design approaches
Comfort operating in a large matrix organization and building cross-disciplinary relationships
