About the role

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group in Colorado is a full-service, multi-disciplinary team — structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and controls — co-located with an Architecture studio for a genuinely integrated design process. As Engineering Principal, you'll split your time between senior project leadership (PM, Engineer-of-Record, QC reviewer) and driving business development across markets like higher education, healthcare, mission-critical, and aviation. This is a principal-level seat at a growing practice with real ownership in where it goes next.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; degree in Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering preferred
15+ years of related engineering experience
Minimum 7 years of project management experience
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized in Colorado
Demonstrated track record in A/E business development in Colorado — client relationships, pursuit strategy, proposal leadership
Substantial project history in one or more of: higher education, hospitality, healthcare, aerospace, commercial real estate, mission-critical facilities, or aviation
Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
Ability to serve as senior technical advisor, mentor, and QC reviewer across concurrent projects
