About the role
HDR's Power sector is growing, and they need a Regional Practice Leader to drive that growth across the North Central Region — a territory spanning Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, and beyond. You'll own client relationships, business development, and team-building for a multi-disciplinary group of power generation professionals, working alongside national practice leaders and regional operations managers. This is a seller-doer role with real authority to shape HDR's regional energy strategy at a pivotal moment for the industry.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field; master's in engineering or business preferred
- 10+ years of energy industry experience, with hands-on exposure to consulting, development, planning, design, and construction of power generation systems
- Professional engineering registration required
- Broad familiarity with generation technologies — conventional fossil, renewables, nuclear, CHP, microgrids, hydrogen, energy storage, and more
- Experience with Integrated Resource Planning, utility and IPP markets, and data center or industrial power clients
- Proven track record building client relationships and growing accounts
- Strong project management skills and comfort navigating complex, cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry conferences
